André Roelants, Vice-Chairman André Roelants is Chairman of the Board of Directors of Clearstream International. Prior to joining Clearstream, Mr Roelants has enjoyed a distinguished career in the banking sector, including serving on the Executive Committee of the Dexia Group, as Chairman of the Executive Board of Banque Internationale à Luxembourg and as Managing Director and Chairman of the Executive Committee of Cregem International Bank, Luxembourg. Mr Roelants has degrees from the Catholic University of Mons, the Free University of Brussels and Harvard Business School. Dr Albert Bressand Dr Bressand is Senior Professor in the Practice of International and Public Affairs and Executive Director of the Energy Centre of the Colubia University, Massachusetts. He was formerly Managing Director of Promethée, the Paris based think-tank ranked in the world's top twenty by The Economist, a member of the Board of Economists of Time magazine and a fellow of the World Economic Forum in Davos and previously served as economic advisor to the French Foreign Minister as deputy director of the French Council on Foreign Relations and as member of the World Bank's policy planning staff in Washington D.C. Dr Bressand has degrees in engineering and mathematics from the Ecole Polytechnique and Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées in Paris and holds a Ph.D. in economics from Harvard University. Dr Helmut Haussmann Dr Haussmann is Vice-President of Cap Gemini. He served as a Member of the German Parliament (Bundestag) from 1976 until 2002. From 1984 to 1988, he was Secretary-General of the FDP and from 1988 to 1991 Federal Minister of Economics. Dr Haussmann became a Lecturer of the Faculty of Business Administration, Economics and Social Sciences, Erlangen-Nuremberg University in 1978. Since 1996, he has been an Honorary Professor in International Management of the Erlangen-Nuremberg University. From 1997 to 1998 he was the Chairman of the Asia-Europe Foundation. Dr Haussmann holds a diploma and a doctorate in economics. Marc Hoffman Marc Hoffman is Chairman of the Board of Luxair. He formerly served as Chairman of the Executive Board of Dexia Banque International à Luxembourg. Mr Hoffman's highly successful career has seen him based in Brussels, London and Paris, before returning to Luxembourg in 1995 as Senior Vice President and Head of Financial Markets for Banque International à Luxembourg. Mr Hoffman has degrees from the Ecole des Cadres in Paris, the D.E.S.S. Sorbonne, also in Paris, and the Harvard Business School. Dr Horst Krenzler Dr Krenzler has had a long a distinguished career and is currently Of Counsel with Freshfields Deringer, Brussels and Governor on the Board of the Asia/EU Foundation (ASEF) and previously held a number of positions within the European Commission, including Deputy Secretary General and Political Director of the European Commission, Director General for External Relations, and Special Advisor to the European Commission. Dr Krenzler studied law, German literature and political sciences at the Universities of Freiburg, Munich and Bonn and holds a Ph.D. in international law at the University of Heidelberg. Oscar Lewisohn Oscar Lewisohn started his professional career in 1962 with S.G. Warburg & Co. Ltd. and was Deputy Chairman 1987 – 1994. He now holds directorships with the Republic National Bank of New York (Suisse), the Soditic Group, the Danish-UK Chamber of Commerce and is an Adviser to Mercury Asset Management Group. Dr Thomas Rabe Dr Rabe is Chief Financial Officer of Bertelsman AG and previously RTL Luxembourg. Prior to joining RTL, he was Chief Financial Officer of Clearstream International, as well as holding positions at the European Commission and the law firm Forrester Norall & Sutton (now White & Case). Dr Rabe has published widely on the EU internal market, in particular on financial services as well as on competition and tax law. He holds a degree and a doctorate in economics from the University of Cologne. Jacques Santer Jacques Santer is a member of the European Parliament. Previously, Mr Santer was President of the European Commission from January 1995 to 1999. Before becoming President of the European Commission in January 1995, Jacques Santer had been Prime Minister of Luxembourg since 1984. After his reelection in 1989, he was also Minister of the Treasury and Minister for Cultural Affairs. In his first term as Prime Minister (1984-1989) he served additionally as Minister of Finance and Telecommunications. Mr Santer has twice been President of the European Council (in 1985 and 1991). In 1980 he chaired the Council's meetings on Finance and Social Affairs while he was Luxembourg's Minister for Finance, Labour and Social Security (1979-1984). Mr Santer has also been elected to the European Parliament on four separate occasions. Mr Santer has a Doctor of Laws and is a graduate of the Institute of the Political Science (Paris). ![]() |
