His Excellency Helmut Kohl Receives Vision for Europe Award from the Edmond Israel Foundation The Edmond Israel Foundation today hosted a conference on Europe attended by 700 people, including high level government officials, ambassadors and senior executives. At the conference, HE Mr Helmut Kohl, the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, received the Edmond Israel Foundation - Vision for Europe Award, a sculpture by Mr Lucien Wercollier. In the presence of their excellencies Chancellor Helmut Kohl, Mr Jean-Claude Juncker, Prime Minister of Luxembourg and Mr Jacques Santer, President of the European Commission, Mr André Lussi, Chairman of the Edmond Israel Foundation, provided a vivid insight into 'European integration and globalisation'. In an expansive tour of world markets his main themes were Europe and the competitiveness of regions in the new millennium. Mr Edmond Israel outlined the rationale for the 'Vision for Europe Award' and provided an overview of HE Mr Kohl's contribution to Europe, explaining why he had been chosen as this year's recipient. Mr Israel presented the Award and in response, HE Mr Kohl captivated his audience with an illuminating speech.
