Edmond Israel Foundation Announces Recipient of 1999 Vision for Europe Award: Mr Willem F. Duisenberg, President of the European Central Bank The Edmond Israel Foundation, today announced that Mr Willem (Wim) F. Duisenberg, President of the European Central Bank will be this year's recipient of the Edmond Israel Foundation Vision for Europe Award. The award ceremony will take place in Luxembourg on 11 November 1999. Among others, the ceremony will include presentations by Mr André Lussi, Chairman of the Edmond Israel Foundation and Mr Duisenberg. André Lussi will conduct the award ceremony, presenting the award to Mr Duisenberg. André Lussi, Chairman of the Edmond Israel Foundation commented: ‘I am delighted that Wim Duisenberg has accepted the 1999 Vision for Europe Award; he is an outstanding choice. The changeover to the euro has been a remarkably smooth process and the European Central Bank, under the presidency of Mr Duisenberg, are to be wholly congratulated for the vital role that it played.
